German Academic Scholarship Foundation

The German Academic Scholarship Foundation is the oldest and largest organisation for the promotion of gifted students in the Federal Republic of Germany.

Supported by funds from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and other governmental and non-governmental organisations, 13 organisations in Germany provide financial and non-material support to particularly talented and committed students and doctoral candidates. Together they reach one percent of all students in Germany with their scholarships.

As one of the three founding organisations of the Carlo Schmid Programme, the Studienstiftung has supported the program since its foundation in 2001. Among other things, the Studienstiftung organises the summer seminar for the newly selected CSP scholarship holders as well as for the returnees as a preparation and follow-up of their internships abroad.
